This site was created to host the internet chat-room for the Central Texas chapter of the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers (CENTEX-MAAF).  Meetings and group activities are coordinated through our Meetup.com page at http://humanism.meetup.com/193/.  Information on the international MAAF organization can be found at www.maaf.info.

The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers was formed to advocate for the civil rights of atheist, agnostic, secular, humanist, and free-thinking members of the military, their families, friends, and supporters.  MAAF also provides social and networking services.  The CENTEX-MAAF chapter serves the central Texas area, including Fort Hood, TX and the surrounding communities. 

The site host and chapter coordinator, Kathleen Johnson, is retired from the US Army and currently works for the Army as a civilian employee. She is the founder of the MAAF, serves as the Military Director for American Atheists, and is on the American Atheists board of directors.
